When you talk of textiles, one of the most important topics is traceability. Excellence most of all means understanding where the raw materials to be used come from. The wool mill collaborates with breeders of the historical Umbrian Pettino sheep with the idea of recuperating traditional wools from that area. At the same time, completely no-mulesing and traceable wools are also used. And alongside natural fibres, there is the exploration of the use of recycled km 0 yarns.
Lanificio F.lli Cerruti 1881 is a member of the Associazione Tessile & Salute (Textile and Health Association) which certifies the safety of its textile products and protects the Made in Italy concept.
In its collections, Lanificio F.lli Cerruti 1881 uses new fibres such as Tencel, a fibre obtained from wood cellulose using a chemical process which respects the environment.
Lanificio F.lli Cerruti 1881 is partnering with Wild Foods Italy, a farm in the Umbrian Apennines which produces wool from Sopravvissane sheep, and which has been run by the Francesca family since 1486. Recovery of textile traditions, female entrepreneurship and research into quality at zero miles.
Lanificio F.lli Cerruti 1881 is endeavouring to offer mulesing-free products, as a result of its exclusive collaboration with selected partners in South Africa and New Zealand. ITRAVEL will then be produced completely MULESING-FREE.
