Suit up! A project of the master in noble fibres

Lanificio F.lli Cerruti part of “Industrie come botteghe d’arte” (Industries as art ateliers)

As always, this year Lanificio F.lli Cerruti is supporting the Biella Master delle Fibre Nobili, a post-graduate course of very high standards which enables students to acquaint themselves with the different phases of processing involved in the textile and clothing sector. Alongside internships which allow the graduates to come into direct contact with companies, and trips abroad to learn about the best raw materials, the Master’s title enables them to develop an excellent knowledge in both theory and practice, to which Lanificio Cerruti is always proud to contribute. 

The Suit Up! project

Within the framework of the Master’s course, the original idea was to allow students to accept the challenge of participating in a project which will prepare them for their future career in the textile and fashion sector. The Suit Up! project involves the creation of a uniform which represents the identity of the Biella Master’s and of the companies – one of them being Lanificio Cerruti – which support the project. 

Thus the travel suit in the ITravel fabric came about: with its crease, stain and water-resistance it is the protagonist of the homonymous range by Lanificio F.lli Cerruti. The design chosen is the iconic overcheck, a very recognisable pattern which expresses being part of a training project which is unique of its type, which expresses the incarnation of its values, and which should be both practical and connected to current themes.

Part of the project is also the narrative of the creation of the uniform, the story of a creative and artisanal path which can be made available through the many existing digital communication channels – and not only digital.

A project which is truly an undertaking, which unites the great Biellese traditions of textile production with an attentive and innovative eye towards the fibres of the future.
