Biella is UNESCO Creative City
Recognition for the commitment of an entire region
On 31st October 2019, Biella became part of the network of UNESCO Creative Cities in the sector “Crafts & Folk Art”. It is a wonderful recognition for the value and commitment all people from the Biellese region place in their everyday activities and the valorisation of a region which undoubtedly considers its textile industry to be a spearhead. The “capital city of wool” thus becomes part of a global network in a sector which rewards craftsmanship in artisanal production and manufacturing and shines the spotlight on cities which see their creativity as their main advantage in terms of strategy and sustainable development. This reward is possible because of the commitment of all sponsors in the area, of the endorsement by political and financial partners, but most of all because of the contribution made by all the inhabitants of the Biellese region.
Lanificio F.lli Cerruti is proud to be part of this situation and of the honour conferred on an entire region which for centuries has been devoted to manufacturing excellence in the textile sector. It is recognition for the talent, the passion and the commitment which every person in the region offers to his or her everyday life. And now we know that we can do even more, together.
