Signor Nino chatting with Spencer Phipps: a dialogue about fashion and sustainability
Nino Cerruti in conversation with the stylist for the Sustainable Style project
Sustainable Style by Pitti Uomo is a project-event which brings designers and stylists together – amongst the most famous, visionary and creative of the sector, chosen by the fashion journalist Giorgia Cantarini – giving them the opportunity to discuss the themes of sustainable fashion, ethical production, and social commitment.
Among the guests at these topical conversations, we also find Nino Cerruti, who was invited to chat with Spencer Phipps, with the involvement of Luke Leitch, editor of Vogue. The conversation, which focused on the subject of sustainable style, brought out two very different personalities, two different ways of understanding style, which are nonetheless equally creative and innovative. Two diverse conceptions of elegance which, however, “attract and repel each other only to find that they are more similar than ever”, in the light of a personal past life, which perhaps was not so different from each other’s, and of a future which both participants imagine, and hope for, that is more sustainable and more available to all.
