LANIFICIO CERRUTI & GIUGIARO - Parcour Concept (Lamborghini Engine 550HP)
"GENEVA MOTOR SHOW"
March 26, 2013

Italdesign Giugiaro celebrates 45 years in business at Geneva by presenting a world première of the Parcour, a type of GT car that did not exist until now; based on the original concept of a Sport Utility Vehicle and, considering its astounding versatility, designed for extensive use on all types of terrain.

This project saw the start of the collaboration between the Moncalieri-based company and the famous wool mill founded in Biella in 1881.
The backrest upholstery and the three bags are made using the fine Parcour fabric from Lanificio F.lli Cerruti. This material, inspired by the army, is the result of research into the historical archives of Lanificio F.lli Cerruti, which contain a special selection of fabrics created between 1920 and 1940, intended for use in making uniforms and parade clothing for the various branches of the army. Today, thanks to a constant evolution and the ongoing development of processing techniques, this precious artisanal fabric is used to create contemporary and luxury items, in full keeping with the tradition and excellent quality of the raw materials.

LANIFICIO F.LLI CERRUTI: AN EXAMPLE OF SUSTAINABILITY
November 30, 2012

“We are creators of beauty that produces real environmental sustainability”.

The accusation by Greenpeace is one that leaves a mark. Chemical analyses of 20 fashion brands has demonstrated the existence of carcinogenic substances in clothing items. The press release written by the head of the pollution campaign of Greenpeace East Asia is eloquent:
"By selling products contaminated with hazardous chemicals, fashion brands are becoming unwitting victims of fashion that pollutes. The substances found contribute to the pollution of waterways all over the world both during the production process and when these products are washed at home. "

LANIFICIO F.LLI CERRUTI, an excellent example of production oriented to environmental sustainability, has always been at the forefront of the fight for ethical business conduct, as has been exhibited several times through the words of Julian and Nino Cerruti:
"Since the enactment of the Kyoto Protocol, we have been committed actively to the environmental cause and supported textile production that adheres to the principles of environmental sustainability. We thus installed a cogeneration plant that uses vegetable oil as fuel for the production of electricity, steam and hot water. In addition to protecting the environment in the process, we have also achieved significant energy savings for the company. "

"We have always used natural materials for the production of precious fabrics which are not harmful to the health of consumers. We have also taken precautions to reduce environmental impact, including the reuse of waste water and filtration of fine particles leading to purification of the emissions produced. "
By planning the future through a relentless pursuit of sustainable progress, the company has confirmed itself to be a pioneer and a point of reference in the environmental field.

FROM PARIS TO BIELLA - DE FURSAC AND LANIFICIO CERRUTI
"BIELLA - JULY 9 - 10 2012"
July 25, 2012

At their first meeting in 2009, Nino Cerruti and Edmond Cohen, owner of De Fursac, decided on a union that has led to the creation of exclusive fabrics of rare and exceptional quality.

On July 9 at Lanificio F.lli Cerruti in Biella, this partnership was announced in the presence of some of the most important Italian and French fashion journalists.
Mr. Cerruti and Mr. Cohen explained the reasons behind the union, based on shared passions and common values such as understated elegance, impeccable quality and respect for the customer.
Lanificio has found an ideal work partner in De Fursac and has never ceased to innovate in the creation of exceedingly beautiful and modern but always authentic fabrics.

The guests in Biella were able to visit the company, see how special fabric comes to life and take in all the steps necessary in the creation of absolute perfection.
They got to touch the raw fabric, witness the stages of spinning, warping, weaving, finishing and finally dry cleaning, see hundreds of employees working with dedication and precision and contributing, each with his own work, to the creation of the main ingredient of all the most important fashion collections: the fabric.

The unique vocation of Lanificio F.lli Cerruti and De Fursac is thus set to start a revolution in the world of fabrics that unites tradition and innovation for the creation of new male clothing.

LANIFICIO F.LLI CERRUTI DAL 1881 AND LARDINI
"White Milan - JUNE 23-25, 2012"
July 25, 2012

Lanificio F.lli Cerruti dal 1881 was once again the star of the event "Tradition, Value, Beauty", organized during White Milano from June 23-25. Another guest which made its appearance at this edition together with Lanificio was the brand Lardini, a prestigious company from Marche synonymous with the elegance and style of contemporary man since 1978.

The exhibit was conceived as a visit to the woollen mill, a real journey inside the company in order to live and savor the atmosphere, the sounds and the environment, from the moment the fabrics are ordered to the moment they are delivered to the hands of those who will then go on to create pieces of exceptional quality.
A long board with fine illustrations recorded the passing of time and a Shakespearean text recounted the story of the fateful meeting between Lanificio Cerruti and Lardini.
The end of the journey featured precious Lardini garments: 14 selected models, some of which were created exclusively for this occasion, all inspired by the historical archives of Lanificio Cerruti, a place that encompasses years of history and experience in the textile sector.

Italian and foreign buyers, journalists and fashion industry experts crowded the large room dedicated to the exhibit, fascinated by the story of this union of Italian excellence which manifested itself in unique and special creations, using passion and dedication.

WHITE MILANO
January 18, 2012

For the occasion of the White Fashion Trade Show, the ‘Gold Bunny’ and ‘Lanificio F.lli Cerruti dal 1881’ brands have joined forces to present a new and revolutionary concept of the coat: a cashmere jacket.
Since its birth in 2008, ‘Gold Bunny’ has had the aim of modernizing a piece of clothing, a true symbol of the 1970s: the leather jacket. The original article has not changed and the real evolutionary aspect consists in the use of ever-changing quality fabrics and hides. The search for unusual fabrics with which to create new versions is always an ongoing quest.
It was from this that the cooperation with ‘Lanificio F.lli Cerruti’ came about; well known for their realization of unique fabrics, their high quality and their unconventional processing that makes it an exclusive brand among the most renowned in the field worldwide.
The most sought after yarns, the perfection of the manufacturing and the almost art-like fabric, creates an alchemy of everlasting creativity, constant innovation and pure excellence. These are the hallmarks of the Lanificio F.lli Cerruti which, for more than 130 years has been synonymous with a continuous search for beauty as well as a symbol of the changing of times.
The yarn used for the creation of this new piece of clothing is pure cashmere which comes from the plateaus of the Chinese Inner Mongolia, a harsh territory which has extreme climatic conditions and is home to the most precious, beautiful cashmere available, the Inner Mongolia Cashmere. This type of cashmere is different from the others due to the fineness of its fibers, their uniformity and length as well as its soft touch.
Special working processes give this unique fabric an unconventional look which renders the appearance of the surface, untidy and uncombed. In this way, a new and dynamic piece of clothing is obtained, in order to have the natural characteristics of the fiber resurface, thus rendering the look both unusual and exclusive at the same time.
The result of the coming together of the quality of the ‘Lanificio F.lli Cerruti’ fabrics and the modern taste of ‘Gold Bunny’ is a cashmere jacket which looks both youthful and up-to-date. Waxing of the finished product renders the article waterproof and gives it a vintage feel, a characteristic which makes it suitable for every situation.
At the appointment with White, a series of illustrations by Massimiliano Frezzato, a world famous comic strip artist, will be presented which will portray the very the soul of ‘Lanificio F.lli Cerruti’ and the ‘Gold Bunny’ articles.

Umit Benan and Nino Cerruti
June 21, 2011

The Umit Benan collection, presented the previous day, seemed more like a family affair. And in a way it was, because the 3-year-old boy running around the alfresco dining table was Oscar Cerruti, grandson of Nino Cerruti, the master tailor and a fashion legend from his native Italy to Hollywood.
Mr. Cerruti has embraced Umit, who, along with Beatrice Trussardi’s project, is having his fashion moment.
“He is authentic and spontaneous — and the nearest in spirit I have ever found, with a lot of humor but concrete sense,” said Mr. Cerruti. ‘’Technically he is prepared to do quality work which is elegant and liveable.”
The Cerruti connection came when Umit bought material from the family fabric company. The 30-year-old designer, fascinated by the early 1980s (when he was a child of Oscar’s age), filled his showspace with Nino Cerruti images that had attracted him.
Sitting around a table, the men in their 1980’s-inspired, broad-shouldered jackets and windowpane checks might have been the bankers of last season on a relaxed weekend day. To put it another way: There didn’t seem to be much innovation in the collection.
Yet certainty is a positive quality in menswear and the designer’s view of seeing the 1980s through the prism of the 21st century makes the decade of greed and excess seem appealing.
“I tried to imagine Oscar in 15 years’ time, thinking of the contact between the future and 1980s details,” said Umit. “An old idea in a new way.”

Three million is being invested to make it possible to independently manage the power and much of the hot water and steam used to process the fabrics. Lanificio Cerruti, in the spirit of the 1997 Kyoto Protocol, is going to celebrate its 130th anniversary with a new combined heat and power system that produces energy using vegetal oil.

This step, made possible through research into sustainable progress, shows that the company is a pioneer and benchmark for other businesses.

Lanificio Cerruti has tied its name to cartoon art. The company's new publicity campaign was born out of collaboration with Massimiliano Frezzato, an internationally renowned cartoonist and artist. It involves seven works that tell the story of the company's seven product families: I Travel, I Party, Oxygen, Cashmere, Luxury, Tailored and Parcour.

For these works, the artist has created an image in which the company is shown as an integral part of the ecosystem. This new work celebrates Cerruti's commitment to the environment. The company is going to install - in a world first for wool manufacturers - a combined heat and power system to produce electricity, steam and hot water, using vegetal oil as fuel.

Cerruti and Art a pair which reunites for the new adv campaign “TRAME”
December 1, 2009

Pursuing its long standing tradition of associating with the art world and innovative artists, lan cerruti creates a new communication strategy based on illustrations. Arising from a collaboration with world famous artist and cartoonist Massimiliano Frezzato, the campaign is based on seven original comics created to tell the story of the seven product families proposed by the company.
Innovative, irreverent, absorbing and representative of the identity of each product.
7 stories, 7 occasions, 7 pictures free to be worn and interpreted just like our textiles.
The new communications campaign entitled TRAME talks about the intimate rapport between man and textiles, putting to the forefront the ideal combination between a moment of his life, a state of mind, an emotion and the clothes he wears. Different colours and situations tell us about the dedicated creative process lived by Cerruti designers. Quality, competence, passion and creativity and intangibility which represent the company’s competitive advantages could only be represented successfully through the work of a fascinating artist like Frezzato.
Upon completion of this task, the artist thought of a final story to symbolically represent the company as an integrated part of the eco-system. With this final comic, Lanificio F.lli Cerruti chose to utilize the artwork to celebrate the implementation of a co-generational energy plant which supplies all the necessary energy for the production by using eco-friendly vegetable oil as combustible fuel.
Completing this task of collaboration the artist thought up an image in which the company is symbolically represented as an integral part of the ecosystem.
Lanificio Cerruti, always aware of environmental issues, celebrates in this way the installation of a co-generation plant which will allow it to produce enough energy for the whole production process,
using vegetable oil as combustible fuel.

The Lanificio Cerruti presents the new collection
September 21, 2009

A great success with the public on the occasion of the Milan Unica and Première Vision Fairs thanks to a collection rich in creativity and innovation, confirming us as a reference point for designers and creators.
The Parcour collection, midway between the more informal man and the more modern woman, was the chief player and most striking.
The MEN’s Collection Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 proposes:
Cashmere, the usual symbol of top quality and richness of sensation, and in this collection has something different and extra. The combinations of colours, the broken classic designs, unusual and surprising, the jackets worked like velvet, the combination of cashmere fibres with silk, mohair. The coats with compact finishing, felted, glossy double fabrics with contrasting designs and colours between the right side and reverse and opening double-face textiles, for softer constructions.
The combed super suits: The Sartorial Garment with the most discreet, dark business patterns, or the brilliant, lively designs combined with the glamour of 130’s finesse. The man’s garment par excellence adapted to values which today are of prime importance.
The Superluxury suit, extrafine 150’s fabrics developed in a business look both with brilliant, less formal patters and with “double chain” patterning with a silky, shiny look.
And lastly, two proposals: SILKLIGHT, the one characterized by very visible and very shiny silk, and the other characterized by a silk nano-filament which combined with wool allows a sparkling, luminous effect to be obtained.
Jackets complete the collection: they used to be called Blazers and were almost always developed in plain fabrics and navy colour. Now we have invented a world of new types with crossings of wool fibre, cotton, silk, possibly even nylon, combined in movements of structure, micro patterns, blurred patterns, creating a range of new textiles almost navy in colour and almost blazer in spirit, unusual, provocative, youthful.
The LADIES’ Collection Autumn/Winter 2010/2011 is the touch of luxury:
a combination of tradition and style, influenced by a delicate sense of quality. Look at the seductive beauty of the double textiles, cashmere for coats and dresses; the modern, surprising urban elegance of the heritage new tweeds; the surprising luminosity of felt where wool proposes clean power for sheer lines. Bowled over by the sensual softness of flannel, elegant, sober for a simply beautiful woman. Fascinating with Jacquard workings, the splendid elegance of silk and the fineness of opaque crepe. Last of all the brilliance of delicate colours: all the grey tones, flattering camel, romantic blue and the top black and white for a disarming, attractive proposal for ladies.

The Lanificio Cerruti launches Parcour
September 14, 2009

The possibilities and prospects offered through social change in the dressing habits of today have been used by the company as the ideal occasion to propose its first collection of informal textiles realized with precious fibres.
For this collection the company has reinvented an important part of its history. In the Lanificio Cerruti archives there is a special section of textiles created between 1920 and 1940 destined for the world of dress and parade Uniforms of the various branches of the Military: Navy, Air Force, Land Army, Finance, Carabinieri, Cadet Officer Schools. A fascinating world of exceptionally solid, martial textiles, enriched with exclusive fabrics realized for the important people and for His Majesty Vittorio Emanuele III, who in a letter to us wrote, “we await your precious cloths because it can clothe Authority with true and lofty worth…”
These facts are part of a tradition which originated in Lanificio Cerruti’s passion for history, innovation and quality.
From this story illustrated by the famous “Principe di Piemonte” selvage comes the idea and the technical experience to create a collection of textiles able to express the same determination as their origins, the street look and the look of life today. Only natural dyes such as those stipulated by supply specifications; wool, cotton, linen, the fibre preferred by the Navy because of its ability to remain impermeable and to be mould proof even after months at sea; gabardine, tricotine, felt, super felt, varnished textiles; modern treatments which are at the same time impermeable and stain proof, application of very light film to combine technology and tradition. A collection, which puts man to the forefront with his own stamp of individuality, his own ability to choose and to see his own UrbanSportswear style endure way beyond the trends.
It’s the new Parcour collection and each one of you is free to live it as you like because these textiles allow it: it’s what we want, it’s what you want.

Cerruti launches the electronic label
September 1, 2009

On the occasion of the Milan Unica and Première Vision exhibitions Lanificio Cerruti will give every client a micro USB pen to present the new collection. 3 millimetres thick, just over 2 centimetres long, 1 GB memory, are the features of this innovative, absorbing object, perfected to accompany the garments of the companies which use Lanificio Cerruti’s fabrics.
This new instrument of communication, utilizing the potential of modern electronic supports, allows a quantity of information, hitherto difficult to transmit, to reach the end consumer. Images, technical information or mere curiosity find the ideal meeting point in a modern electronic label which satisfies the end consumer’s thirst for information, continually seeking back up when making a purchase.
With luxurious qualities which may be personalized it offers the end user the possibility of finding out everything about the bought garment, from the type of textile used to the way it was manufactured, to information regarding washing and maintenance.
The companies can at last talk about themselves and their own products without the confines of space and without disturbing the aesthetics of the garment shown in the shop.
